AVATAR, by JAMES GALVIN Poet Analysis Poet's Biography First Line: The imperceptible Last Line: And there you are Subject(s): California; Magic; Names | ||||||||
The imperceptible Becomes something Like geese flying, Or sometimes you hear A girl's name, that's all. In many syllogisms Which begin with words Like if morality, Narcissism and possibly Wheelchairs are dignified. According to a man Who writes near urinals In Arcata, California, The meek don't want it. And across the street In another bar, In the same delirious Hand and green Felt-tipped pen, Thelma, do what thou wilt. Emptiness makes The world occur more, Causing love and problems. The imperceptible Becomes something And there you are. Used with the permission of Copper Canyon Press, P.O.
