THE BROKEN WATER WHEEL, by
First Line: Singing as she dips
Last Line: To catch the sighed applause.

Singing as she dips,
No word upon her lips;
Every thirsty lad
Salutes her, and is glad.

Suddenly a fin
Flies off, and stops her spin
The twinkling of an eye,
Then sends her swinging high.

Like a songstress she
Who breaks her melody,
Straining at the pause
To catch the sighed applause.
