BARRIER, by MIRIAM BARRANGER First Line: We have been near to meeting Last Line: Yours will find the way. Subject(s): Absence; Separation; Isolation | |||
We have been near to meeting; We, whose love's so nearly whole. A misty darkness Light as airintangible, Falls between And inevitably separates. My spirit tries to reach beyond The darkness; But there is a wall, High, insurmountable, Ever menacing, ever present. It is not given me to go beyond, But if entity there is to be Yours will find the way. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE EVENING OF THE MIND by DONALD JUSTICE CHRISTMAS AWAY FROM HOME by JANE KENYON THE PROBLEM by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES WHEN A WOMAN LOVES A MAN by DAVID LEHMAN THIS UNMENTIONABLE FEELING by DAVID LEHMAN LINES TO A FITFUL LOVER by MIRIAM BARRANGER |
