OF SUCH AS THESE, by
First Line: I close my eyes and I seem to see
Last Line: The light that love is made of!
Subject(s): Dreams; Nightmares

I close my eyes and I seem to see
Myself slip into the seat by your side,
Your hand caressingly pat my knee --
Oh, the world was good and the world was wide,
Such things as dreams are made of!

I opened my eyes to a day of pain --
Pain of others, mine own to stifle.
This was my place, with a smile urbane
I jollied them on till they laughed at trifles.
Such things as smiles are made of!

God wills and a dream comes true some day.
Till then thank God for the gift of dreaming.
"Let's go!" you'll cry and on our way
We'll follow the silver light astreaming --
The light that love is made of!
