FEAR hath torment. Love, away! I'm afraid of you to-day. Love, your voice I dare not hear, 'Tis so infinitely dear. Love, I do not dare to see In your eyes your need of me. Take to-day your banishment, Lest I utterly repent. My weak heart I scarcely know, Only, love, I tremble so. Kiss me once, and leave me, dear; Better loneliness than fear. Fear hath torment. Love, away! I'm afraid of you to-day. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THERE WAS A CHILD ONCE by KATHERINE MANSFIELD SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#15) by MARVIN BELL THE DEATHS ABOUT YOU WHEN YOU STIR IN SLEEP by JOHN CIARDI EGOISME A DEUX' by LOUISA SARAH BEVINGTON |
