THE CAMPUS IN VACATION, by ANNE MILLAY BREMER First Line: The road winds grey, deserted Last Line: Waiting for many feet. Subject(s): Roads; Travel; Vacation; Paths; Trails; Journeys; Trips | ||||||||
THE road winds grey, deserted, Trodden hard by many feet. Quiet, and empty the space That echoed lively voices And the beat of lilting hearts. Each term, they come, crowns gleam ...! A few years and they are carried Into life's sucking stream. Tall trees like veiled, grave figures, Mist muffled, in silence stand. The road winds grey, deserted, Waiting for many feet. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...RICHARD, WHAT'S THAT NOISE? by RICHARD HOWARD LOOKING FOR THE GULF MOTEL by RICHARD BLANCO RIVERS INTO SEAS by LYNDA HULL DESTINATIONS by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN THE ONE WHO WAS DIFFERENT by RANDALL JARRELL THE CONFESSION OF ST.
