Last Line: Sandalwood and desert dominate the street.
Subject(s): Pomegranates

Pomegranates in a window, red as Pelee's flame --
Pomegranates in New England, passionate as shame.

Peacock palm-trees slanting through an opal haze --
Cream meharis laden as in Sheba's days --
Abyssinian nautch-girls with tempting amber feet --
Jeweled cobras dancing in the latticed street --
Coal-black eunuchs chattering, naked as a faun --
Scimitars and passion, sudden as the dawn.

Pomegranates in a window, flaming through the sleet --
Sandalwood and desert dominate the street.
