EQUALITY, by EVA CAMINSKY First Line: The sun that shines in other lands Last Line: Shall do the same for me. Subject(s): Equality; God | ||||||||
The sun that shines in other lands Shall also shine for me; The storms that rage in other lands Shall rage across the sea, And all that comes to other lands Shall also come to me. The joys that gladden other hearts Shall make me happy, too; The beauty that draws other eyes Shall draw both me and you; And sorrows that make others sad Shall hush my laughter, too. The Hand that guides my fellow-men Shall be the guide for me, And as the ways grow light for them When I go, so it will be; And the God Who helps my fellow-men Shall do the same for me. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE MOUNTAIN IS STRIPPED by DAVID IGNATOW AS CLOSE AS BREATHING by MARK JARMAN UNHOLY SONNET 1 by MARK JARMAN UNHOLY SONNET 13 by MARK JARMAN BIRTH-DUES by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE SILENT SHEPHERDS by ROBINSON JEFFERS GOING TO THE HORSE FLATS by ROBINSON JEFFERS JOURNEY TO A KNOWN PLACE by HAYDEN CARRUTH I WANT TO LIVE by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY: WILLIAM AND EMILY by EDGAR LEE MASTERS |
