AN ORCHID, by ROUTLEDGE CURRY First Line: The old mahogany fireplace Last Line: To a point. Subject(s): Flowers; Gardens & Gardening; Nature; Orchids; Spring | ||||||||
The old mahogany fireplace Had an ample cloth of dark green velvet Over its mantlepiece. On it I placed a slender silver vase, And filled it with a solitary orchid Of rare beauty.
