MORNING, by ROSALIE D. DAVIS First Line: Would you behold beauty wondrous and bright? Last Line: Of decking the brier and the thorn. Subject(s): Morning | ||||||||
Would you behold beauty wondrous and bright? Go forth when the morning appears Draped in a gorgeous sunshiny robe Of finest of summery sheers. Would you be dazzled by splendor sublime? Then go before day is too old, Out where the gentians are garbed in their best And leaves have donned purple and gold. Would you see gems iridescent and rare? Arise on a clear frosty morn; Go where the sleet king has finished his task Of decking the brier and the thorn. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MORNING SONG by KARLE WILSON BAKER THE WHARF ON THAMES-SIDE: WINTER DAWN by LAURENCE BINYON POEM BEFORE BREAKFAST by TED KOOSER I'VE BEEN ASLEEP by PHILIP LEVINE SPRNG DAY: BREAKFAST TABLE by AMY LOWELL THE WAYSIDE STATION by EDWIN MUIR AN ETERNITY by ARCHIBALD MACLEISH |
