SEA GEMS, by EVON DESSINS First Line: Blue turquoise waves Last Line: From the noon sun. Subject(s): Sea; Ocean | ||||||||
I. Blue turquoise waves, Opal green sprays Of a quiet sea Slashing the crags' Jagged white thighs At dawn. II. Emerald green weeds, In patches, I see, Floating easily On a calm sea. Cerulean blue haze Rising in a morning sky. A sea gull on the wing At morn. III. Bubbling, white foam laves The face of the sand. Tiny, whirling pools of brine Forming along the edge, To outline the beach-shore, That's torn. IV. Ragged, tiny lace skirts Of the Sea Spreading their scalloped edges Over bare rocks Covering their cinnamon faces; Sheltering their black eyes From the noon sun. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HALL OF OCEAN LIFE by JOHN HOLLANDER JULY FOURTH BY THE OCEAN by ROBINSON JEFFERS BOATS IN A FOG by ROBINSON JEFFERS CONTINENT'S END by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE FIGUREHEAD by LEONIE ADAMS |
