YOUTH, by JULIA HADLEY DILL First Line: Youth is a fragile sweet blossom Last Line: Shall bloom on eternity's shore. Subject(s): Youth | ||||||||
Youth is a fragile sweet blossom That fades in the noon's burning ray, Exchanging its delicate petals For fruit at the close of the day. So with the fruit rich in wisdom, And mellowed by patience with pain, The fragile sweet blossom of morning Shall know all its beauty again. Then when the long night has fallen, The fruit being garnered in store, The fragile sweet blossom of morning Shall bloom on Eternity's shore. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...BETWEEN THE WARS by ROBERT HASS THE GOLDEN SHOVEL by TERRANCE HAYES ALONG WITH YOUTH by ERNEST HEMINGWAY THE BLACK RIVIERA by MARK JARMAN MY HUT; AFTER TRAN QUANG KHAI by HAYDEN CARRUTH |
