TIME AND ETERNITY, by OLIVER MURRAY EDWARDS First Line: Far flung by the omnipotent Last Line: Of god's eternity. Subject(s): Future Life; Retribution; Eternity; After Life | ||||||||
Far flung by the Omnipotent, The world revolves through space; Subject to universal law It moves within its place; Beneath, above, sun, moon and stars It passes on its way; Each revolution 'neath the sun Marks one more night and day. God's creature, Man, lives for a time Upon the whirling sphere With power to choose Eternal Life, Beyond the far and near, Where mansions beautiful await, Beyond the crystal sea Within the New Jerusalem Of God's Eternity. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...IKON: THE HARROWING OF HELL by DENISE LEVERTOV LEEK STREET by LAURE-ANNE BOSSELAAR UNABLE TO FIND by LAURE-ANNE BOSSELAAR THE AFTERLIFE: LETTER TO STEPHEN DOBYNS 3 by HAYDEN CARRUTH THE AFTERLIFE: LETTER TO STEPHEN DOBYNS: 1 by HAYDEN CARRUTH THE AFTERLIFE: LETTER TO STEPHEN DOBYNS: 2 by HAYDEN CARRUTH WRITING IN THE AFTERLIFE by BILLY COLLINS A CHRISTMAS CAROL AND ANTHEM by OLIVER MURRAY EDWARDS |
