Yo' a rascal, goodness lan',
Yo' tear roun' to beat de ban';
Mammy smack yo' wid dis han',
Honey Lam'.

Dah now, hush ma little baby,
Honey Lam', Honey Lam',
Mammy jes' a-foolin', maybe,
Honey Lam'.
Think she'd smack dis bressed chile?
She don' care if he is wil',
Hush ma baby, sleep a-while,
Honey Lam'.

Yo's yo' daddy's pride and joy,
Honey Lam', Honey Lam',
An' yo' mammy's black-eyed boy,
Honey Lam'.
Mammy rock yo' in huh a'm,
An' she keep yo' safe from ha'm,
Wid yo' daddy's rabbit cha'm,
Honey Lam'.
