A SONG OF LOVE, by JEAN DREW FREEMAN First Line: My own, the miles must not part us Last Line: Of the muessin,to pray! Subject(s): Hearts; Love; Singing & Singers; Songs | |||
My own, the miles must not part us, The miles nor the silent days! But come with me where stars still guard The desert's mystic ways: To journey through the blinding light Of sun-gold at high noon, And winds that sweep the burning sands And whirl a great white dune; At last to reach the garden, where Good Allah reigns supreme, And walls of peace shut out the strife To leave our world, a dream; Where only purple shadows tell The silver night from day; And far away, the low clear cry Of the Muessin,to pray! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE APOLLO TRIO by CONRAD AIKEN BAD GIRL SINGING by MARK JARMAN CHAMBER MUSIC: 4 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 5 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 28 by JAMES JOYCE THE SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE IS LIKE THE SCENT OF SYRINGA by MINA LOY |
