A MOTHER'S LOVE, by
First Line: Who knows what depths it reaches
Last Line: That warmth still lingers on at sundown?
Subject(s): Love; Mothers

Who knows what depths it reaches,
To what heights it goes?
Only a gleam of sun upon life's ocean rests,
As the sands in the hourglass run.
Has it but touched the restless waves
It sought with such intensity to warm?
The mighty deep flows on and on with unconcern.
There is no path to tell whence came the sun,
There is no way to judge this force of Mother love.
Sometimes it seems a vain and useless memory,
Yet down the ages, long as time and tide themselves,
We've held this legend sacred.
Shall I have faith then to go on
Believing that the sun still shines,
That warmth still lingers on at Sundown?
