A thousand rooms in a beautiful home
For men and women who like to roam.
Hundreds of unseen feet and hands
Ready to rush at slightest commands.
A million dreams of a journey's end
A haven to thousands who have a friend.
Rivers of tears and grim despair,
To tens of thousands who anchor there.
Happiness -- loneliness -- side by side.
Each has his alcove -- each has his pride.
And whom shall know the good or bad
And which are happy and which are sad?
A thousand doors -- all barred to me.
This home is a grotesque fantasy.
