TREES, by ADA GRAVES First Line: There is so much beauty in a tree Last Line: Oh, how grandly beautiful is a tree. Subject(s): Trees | ||||||||
There is so much beauty in a tree. Each trembling leaf is a joy And comfort to mankind. With a sigh of consolation we seek its shade And inhale its balmy fragrance. It reaches out, and reaches up To the sun, the rain, To the twinkling stars and heaven above. With ever a kindly shelter in its regal majesty, It throws outward and upward its boughs, As though with hands outstretched in thankfulness For the many blessings given to it, And the joy they are enabled to give To the flowers, the birds, and humankind. Each tiny leaf and branch Is perpetually waving us a welcome, And to the glories of the earth and sky. Oh, how grandly beautiful is a Tree. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE PROBLEM OF DESCRIBING TREES by ROBERT HASS THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MIDNIGHT EDEN by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN REFLECTION OF THE WOOD by LEONIE ADAMS THE LIFE OF TREES by DORIANNE LAUX LETTER TO JOSEPH WARREN by ROBERT FROST |
