A FOREST RENDEZVOUS, by                     Poet's Biography
First Line: They said someone was waiting
Last Line: Being blind.
Subject(s): Forests; Love - Loss Of; Woods

They said someone was waiting;
And at the trysting oak
Sudden enchanting voices
Leaf-lightly spoke.

Daylong she had been coming,
And all the forest sang
Of beauty: elfin-softly
The bluebells rang.

Nightlong she was in shadow,
She who went away
As the moon does in the silver
Veils of day.

I see no course to follow,
Alas, nor where to find
The silver way she vanished,
Being blind.
