MIRIAM'S EXHORTATION TO HER MINION, by
First Line: Twas not without design it happened so
Last Line: To leave a name unique in fame for all time.
Subject(s): Fate; Destiny

'Twas not without design it happened so
That heaven upon thee her grace did bestow
For thine was the lot to be inscribed meet
To carry out predestination's crowning feat
With prophet's ingenuity essay manoeuver bold
To make the incredible before men's eyes unfold
The deed that will all others outshine
By its daring and strategy fine.

Thy mystic star unfailing beacon in the fray
Emblazons truth and right in brilliant way,
Strive manfully to break the chains of bondage to one
Who looks upon saintly worship as injury done,
Make men marvel in bewildered awe
At that spectacle they never yet saw,
Face trying ordeal with spirit firm, sublime
To leave a name unique in fame for all time.
