LIFE'S CATHEDRAL, by M. C. HAECKER First Line: Faith is a cathedral grand Last Line: Is verily the life divine. Subject(s): Churches; Faith; God; Praise; Religion; Cathedrals; Belief; Creed; Theology | |||
Faith is a cathedral grand. Pictured windows all divine. No glory when without you stand, And view their dull and dreary line; But when within you look about, And God's own sunlight floods the whole Each separate ray doth fairly shout A harmony that fills your soul, And lifts you into heaven's plane, And makes your life seem strong and whole; Oh, then you say that life is true, That God is good, and love is strong; That just to live with such a view, To do God's work, to sing his song, Is far the best and greatest thing For which a human heart can pine; To gladly toil, and love, and sing Is verily the life divine. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MYSTIC BOUNCE by TERRANCE HAYES MATHEMATICS CONSIDERED AS A VICE by ANTHONY HECHT UNHOLY SONNET 11 by MARK JARMAN SHINE, PERISHING REPUBLIC by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE COMING OF THE PLAGUE by WELDON KEES A LITHUANIAN ELEGY by ROBERT KELLY YOUR LITTLE GRAY HOME IN THE WEST by M.
