NATURE, by MINNA D. HAINES First Line: A tiny bud I hold in my hand Last Line: In the unseen hand of god. Subject(s): Nature | ||||||||
A tiny bud I hold in my hand All fashioned with loving care; The Master Artist each tint had planned -- Each leaf had placed softly there. The blue of the sky and the sunbeam's gold He mixed for the green, I know -- Each pointed leaf He shaped like a star, A star of the long ago. Life-giving strength came up from the earth And coursed through the tiny veins -- The breath of life was caught from the winds -- The wine of life from the rains. And when June brings the flowers and bees, The buds will be fully blown; And nestling close in their cosy depths, The birds will make their home. The pot of gold at the Rainbow's end Is the gift of the Golden Rod -- Man feels the pulsings of Nature In the Unseen Hand of God. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...INTERRUPTED MEDITATION by ROBERT HASS TWO VIEWS OF BUSON by ROBERT HASS THE FATALIST: HOME by LYN HEJINIAN WRITING IS AN AID TO MEMORY: 17 by LYN HEJINIAN LET US GATHER IN A FLOURISHING WAY by JUAN FELIPE HERRERA IN MICHAEL ROBINS?ÇÖS CLASS MINUS ONE by HICOK.
