A CIGARETTE VAGARY, by MARY CAMILLA FOSTER HALL-WOOD First Line: In the smoke of my dear cigarito Last Line: A bitterness tinges it all. Alternate Author Name(s): Von K., Camilla K. Subject(s): Cupid; Smoking; Eros; Tobacco; Pipes; Cigars; Cigarettes | ||||||||
IN the smoke of my dear cigarito Cloud castles rise gorgeous and tall, And Eros, divine muchachito, With smiles hovers over it all. But dreaming, forgetting to cherish The fire at my lips, as it dies, The dream and the rapture must perish, And Eros descend from the skies. O wicked and false muchachito, Your rapture I yet may recall; But like my re-lit cigarito, A bitterness tinges it all. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...ONE LAST DRAW OF THE PIPE by PAUL MULDOON CHANEL NO. 5 by LAURE-ANNE BOSSELAAR OLD MEN ON THE COURTHOUSE LAWN, MURRAY, KENTUCKY by JAMES GALVIN DOWN BY THE CARIB SEA: 2.
