THE CHAPEL ROAD, by MARY C. HAUGHEY Last Line: It knows the way to god. Subject(s): Towns | ||||||||
The chapel road is wise and still, And pious people say, That every flower that blossoms there Has learned the way to pray. So holy is the chapel road, The old folk tell the young, That every tree bows down its head When Angelus is rung. The pagan roads dance into town, A laugh in every sod. The chapel road is still and wise, It knows the way to God. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HAIL TEESSIDE! by CECIL DAY LEWIS THE IMPORTANCE OF GREEN by JAMES GALVIN A TOWN DEDICATED TO THE PURSUIT OF FITNESS & INNER PEACE by ANSELM HOLLO AN EXPLANATION by JAMES WELDON JOHNSON WHAT COULD HAPPEN by DORIANNE LAUX TRAVELOGUE: WHEN WE CONSIDER THE DARK LIGHT by ELENI SIKELIANOS SONNETS ATTEMPTED IN THE MANNER OF CONTEMPORARY WRITERS: 2 by SAMUEL TAYLOR COLERIDGE |
