A SONG OF WELCOME (FOR THE ST. NICHOLAS SUNDAY SCHOOL), by FRANCES RIDLEY HAVERGAL Poet's Biography First Line: Oh god, with grateful hearts we come Last Line: That fadeth not away. Subject(s): Hymns (as Literary Form) | |||
OH God, with grateful hearts we come Thy goodness to adore, While we our Pastor welcome home To England's happy shore. For Thy delivering love we praise, And Thy restoring hand, Oh spare him yet for long, long days To this our little band. Thy Spirit's fulness on him rest, Thy love his sunshine be! And may he still, while doubly blest, A blessing be from Thee. When the Chief Shepherd shall appear May he receive, we pray, A crown of glory bright and clear That fadeth not away. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A MORNING HYMN by CHARLES WESLEY A HYMN ON THE DIVINE OMNIPRESENCE by JOHN BYROM A HYMN IN PRAISE OF NEPTUNE by THOMAS CAMPION ORDER FOR A SONG by MIRIAM DEL BANCO CHOOSING HYMNS by JOHN FREEMAN A SEEING HEART; TO 'FANNY CROSBY' by FRANCES RIDLEY HAVERGAL ASKING by FRANCES RIDLEY HAVERGAL CHURCH MISSIONARY JUBILEE HYMN by FRANCES RIDLEY HAVERGAL CONSECRATION HYMN by FRANCES RIDLEY HAVERGAL I DID THIS FOR THEE!
