ADVENTURING, by NORA BYRNES HEGI First Line: Her dignity and tenderness were deep Last Line: Where shadows hovered over cherished themes. | |||
Her dignity and tenderness were deep, And born of grace, Eternity's true mold. Her heart was filled with love she held untold; The songs she held unsung in triumph leap With love and joy to bloom where angels reap. Does she regret that she had failed to hold The rose, because of thorns around its fold? -- Step softly lest we waken her from sleep. She went, one day, beyond the mystic veil -- The spirit world beheld in her weird dreams. Does she now understand why lone ships sail Away from home and friends to far-off streams? She loved to drift alone, to dare the gale Where shadows hovered over cherished themes. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...OLNEY HYMNS: 9.
