WILLOW'S STARS, by SARA-LOUISE HEILBRON First Line: You told me to look up and see the stars Last Line: And you the weeping willow tree. Subject(s): Willow Trees | ||||||||
You told me to look up and see the stars Tangled in the weeping willow branches. The lovely, lovely summer stars Were all caught in the swaying boughs above. They didn't seem to mind their capture By the slender, graceful limbs, Nor would I have minded had I been the stars And you the weeping willow tree. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HUNTING PHEASANTS IN A CORNFIELD by ROBERT BLY SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY: COLUMBUS CHENEY by EDGAR LEE MASTERS WILLOW SONG; FOR FRANCES HOROWITZ by ANNE STEVENSON LANDSCAPES (FOR CLEMENT R.
