MOLES, by
First Line: My white, my shining girl
Last Line: My cheeks with ink was sprinkling!'
Subject(s): Mole (skin Growth)

My white, my shining girl,
As pretty as a pearl;
When I woo her dearly
She melts away, or nearly.

Spotted each pale cheek
With a musk-jet streak;
Beauty all excelling
There is dwelling.

I said to her, as through
My heart (and well I knew)
Her moles sent thrills of passion
In so sweet a fashion:

'Live your favours in
The whiteness of your skin,
And is that blackness token
Of hate, and my heart broken?'

'My father', answered she,
'A royal scribe was he;
His love so ringed about me,
He could not be without me.

'He feared that I might know
His master's secrets, so
Took pen, and in a twinkling
My cheeks with ink was sprinkling!'
