THE LUTE, by
First Line: God ever bless the earth
Last Line: Fair maidens sing thereto.
Subject(s): Lutes

God ever bless the earth
That brought your tree to birth:
Its branches thrived indeed,
And fruitful was its seed.

Birds sang on every bough
When it was green; and now,
Though withered through and through,
Fair maidens sing thereto.
