HIGH HEART, by ALINE MURRAY KILMER Poet's Biography First Line: The sea that I watch from my window Last Line: When you come home. Alternate Author Name(s): Kilmer, Joyce, Mrs. Subject(s): Sea; Ocean | ||||||||
The sea that I watch from my window Is gray and white; I see it toss in the darkness All the night. My soul swoops down to sorrow As the sea-gulls dip, And all my love flies after Your lonely ship. Yet I am not despairing; Though we must part, Nothing can be too bitter For my high heart; All in the dreary midnight, Watching the flying foam, I wait for a golden morning When you come home. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HALL OF OCEAN LIFE by JOHN HOLLANDER JULY FOURTH BY THE OCEAN by ROBINSON JEFFERS BOATS IN A FOG by ROBINSON JEFFERS CONTINENT'S END by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE FIGUREHEAD by LEONIE ADAMS AGE INVADING by ALINE MURRAY KILMER |
