We rest in illimitable slumber. The Gods of Death are done. There are not many of our number To taste the April sun, Or see the earth turn dun. Out of the soil we harken, To hear our brothers moan Over new graves that darken With lichen like our own, On which the frost can hone. We sleep with inscrutable faces, Who only know the sight Of dim half-hidden places Which the blind mole calls light, And is eternal night. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE SURVIVOR AMONG GRAVES by RANDALL JARRELL SUBJECTED EARTH by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE GRAVE OF MRS.
