FATE, by BERTHA Y. KRAMER First Line: On such a little thing our future hinges! Last Line: A spoken word, a careless note dispatched. Subject(s): Fate; Future; Soul; Destiny | ||||||||
On such a little thing our future hinges! A spoken word, a careless note dispatched -- And lo! old lines and patterns are detached, Or change with colors new their texture tinges. Think how one flame, that seemingly but singes Sears to the depths a surface once unscratched. On such a little thing our future hinges. A spoken word, a careless note dispatched, And on a soul that droops apart or cringes Steals a new sundawn through a door unlatched. Yea, or a captive from his prison snatched Starts as a ray upon his brow impinges. On such a little thing our future hinges -- A spoken word, a careless note dispatched. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...ATTEMPTING TO ANSWER DAVID IGNATOW'S QUESTION by ROBERT BLY FROST AND HIS ENEMIES by ROBERT BLY THE WORLDS IN THIS WORLD by LAURE-ANNE BOSSELAAR UNABLE TO FIND by LAURE-ANNE BOSSELAAR TO HELEN KELLER - HUMANITARIAN, SOCIAL DEMOCRAT, GREAT SOUL by EDWIN MARKHAM DOMESDAY BOOK: FINDING OF THE BODY by EDGAR LEE MASTERS WE COME BACK by KENNETH REXROTH |
