YELLOW LEAVES, by
First Line: Songs, once heard, are heard again
Last Line: There is no tomorrow.
Subject(s): Leaves; Time

Songs, once heard, are heard again
With first hearing laden;
Be it joy they brushed, or pain,
Be it man or maiden,
Down the years they bear off, now
Memories for freighting;
Sunsets in their sails, at prow,
Lanterns of long waiting.

Raindrops in the dark, to one,
Hush two hearts together;
This man loves an April sun,
That, wild ocean weather.
When you said it, yesterday,
Yellow leaves wore sorrow:
Yellow leaves will always say
There is no tomorrow.
