FAITH, by ALICE LUCAS Poet's Biography Last Line: Of all thy gifts the best! Alternate Author Name(s): Montefiore, Julia Subject(s): Faith; God; Jews; Belief; Creed; Judaism | |||
OF all Thy gifts the best. On us Thy needy people, sore distress'd, Sore travel worn, and stained with sin and woe, Of all Thy gifts the best. Then shall we find, amid life's toilsome quest, The peace of God, from which all blessings flow. Then shall no evil fears our souls molest. Faith, faith in Thee, faith that, where'er we go, Thy presence goes with us, and gives us rest That is in heaven above, on earth below, Of all Thy gifts the best! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE RABBI'S SON-IN-LAW by SABINE BARING-GOULD A LITTLE HISTORY by DAVID LEHMAN FOR I WILL CONSIDER YOUR DOG MOLLY by DAVID LEHMAN JEWISH GRAVEYARDS, ITALY by PHILIP LEVINE NATIONAL THOUGHTS by YEHUDA AMICHAI SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 2.
