TO A MOCKINGBIRD, by
First Line: Little bird upon my sill
Last Line: Gloom dispelled and fear made glad.
Subject(s): Mockingbirds

Little bird upon my sill,
How I love to feel your thrill!
Happy home up in a tree,
Pretty sight for child to see.

When the years round 'bout you pass,
And your family's en masse,
Song and twitter all afloat
That has come from your dear throat,
I shall call to those who pass --
Other birds now on the grass,
From your throat has come pure joy
Like the whistle of a boy.

Praise to God who sent you here,
Just to wipe away a fear
From a troubled heart that's sad,
Gloom dispelled and fear made glad.
