First Line: When my poor pussy died, I took
Last Line: And let her in to heaven for me.
Subject(s): Animals; Cats; Death - Animals

When my poor pussy died, I took
And buried her beside the brook,
Where all the fish and birds could look.

Because they must be sorry when
They saw she could not hunt again,
And maybe would forgive her then.

Besides, I thought that God might see
How good and quiet she could be,
And let her in to Heaven for me.
