IN OLDEN DAYS, by                     Poet's Biography
First Line: In olden days, your youth and the dawn together
Last Line: Over the sad hills, now it comes alone!
Subject(s): Youth

In olden days, your youth and the dawn together
Sought the rising sun,
And the sun and you, in the fresh, sonorous weather,
Were two companions venturing as one.

Still my window rises in the crystal hours
When the reviving day assumes its throne;
But as I look upon it, how the morning lowers
Over the sad hills, now it comes alone!
