COME ON HOME, by DOUGLAS MALLOCH Poet's Biography First Line: Come on home, for home is waiting Last Line: Pack your things, and come on home! Subject(s): Homecoming | ||||||||
Come on home, for home is waiting When the world's no longer kind; Come on home, when tired of hating, Sick of sinning, when you find Only failure each endeavor; Not so sure and not so clever, Come on home and heal the scar Here where just the home-folks are. Come on home, for home remembers When your new-found friends forget; Wide the door and warm the embers, Home is even dearer yet. Oh, we have such memories of you! Come on home and let us love you! Hearts are hungry while you roam!
