TRAIL'S END, by BEULAH MAY First Line: Is this the end of all adventuring Last Line: What is death's meaning but life just begun? Subject(s): Future Life; Retribution; Eternity; After Life | ||||||||
Is this the end of all adventuring: Of golden mornings when I stopped to gaze Across a mountain shrouded with blue haze; Of ardent summers and their blossoming; Of studios at dusk and songs to sing By laughing artists gathered round the blaze; Bright seas of amethyst and chrysoprase; The desert wind; the hot blood's clamoring? What if the road has darkened to the west: The friends I love, their high endeavors done, Leave brush and palette and slip off to rest, The colors dim they blazoned in the sun?
