SIETE ROBLES, by THERESA M. MCLEAN First Line: Beyond a mountain trail Last Line: Than health, and these. Subject(s): Brothers; Family Life; Half-brothers; Relatives | ||||||||
Beyond a mountain trail Away from other folks, I built myself a home Under seven oaks. The trees were tall and strong, I hailed them as my kin, They watched my home without, I slept within. When storms beat round my house And set their torrents free, My seven oaks would shout And sing with me. When quiet evening falls And shadows dot the hill, My seven brothers stand Silent and still. No other kin I need My home and seven trees, I ask no more of God Than health, and these. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MY AUNT ELLA MAE by MICHAEL S.
