WINTER'S SNOW, by MRS. R. A. MEDLAM First Line: The snow lies soft upon the lea Last Line: And that good and bitter we all must take Subject(s): Baths & Bathing; Blessings; Clouds; Snow | ||||||||
The snow lies soft upon the lea, Around the roots of trees and flowers, A blessing sent from God above, So thank him for the bountiful showers. The kine are sheltered clean and warm, The sheep within the fold are found. The farmer takes a needed rest Waiting the time to till his ground. Cars glide along the opened roads Between the snow banked on each side. Clouds hang grey, and birds are still, For snow has covered the countryside. O friend and neighbor, let's our lesson learn, From the snow which has fallen flake by flake, To do our bit where'er we're placed, And that good and bitter we all must take | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...BRIGHT SUN AFTER HEAVY SNOW by JANE KENYON SNOW FALLING THROUGH FOG by WILLIAM MATTHEWS THE SNOW FAIRY by CLAUDE MCKAY NOT ONLY ESKIMOS by LISEL MUELLER FACING THE WALL by MRS.
