SPACE SONG, by GRACE MEREDITH First Line: Wide open spaces remain with me ever Last Line: Stay in my sight. | |||
Wide open spaces remain with me ever, thrusting the clouds of the restless away, shifting and quiet like murmuring breezes, day after day. Let me remember the sight of the desert, dreaming and patient alone in the sun, let me remember the evergreen mountains, when day is done. Whenever it is that walls are around me, rearing themselves between me and the light, wide open spaces of mountain and desert, stay in my sight. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING ON TIMBERLINE by GRACE MEREDITH WOMAN WITH A SON by GRACE MEREDITH TANGENTIAL by LOUIS UNTERMEYER THE BELLS OF SHANDON by FRANCIS SYLVESTER MAHONY A CHRISTMAS FOLK-SONG by LIZETTE WOODWORTH REESE SIDNEY GODOLPHIN by CLINTON SCOLLARD THE EUMENIDES: CHORUS by AESCHYLUS THE PACIFIC RAILWAY by C.
