UNDISMAYED, by MARY ETHEL NEWELL First Line: When rain-storms drench the lofty pines Last Line: Retain their shining coats of green. Subject(s): Pine Trees; Trees | ||||||||
When rain-storms drench the lofty pines They hoard a world of diamond drops So when again the bright sun shines, They flash their jewels in the sun. Though winter winds are cold and keen And heartlessly have lashed their boughs, The pine trees, smiling, still serene, Retain their shining coats of green. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE PROBLEM OF DESCRIBING TREES by ROBERT HASS THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MIDNIGHT EDEN by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN REFLECTION OF THE WOOD by LEONIE ADAMS THE LIFE OF TREES by DORIANNE LAUX |
