Last Line: We find it hard to travel roads of clay!
Subject(s): Air Travel

The looms of twilight weave across the west
A web that soon will blanket all with night;
A crescent moon swings out and comes to rest
Beyond the flashing crimson pilot-light.
This is the harbor of the unafraid,
Remote from all the other marts of man;
Here are the argosies of air, arrayed
With all the glamour of a caravan.

They are the conquerors of time and sky --
We are the earth-bound, though with straining wings
We hold our heart against the poignant cry
Of wind and stars beyond imaginings.
When it is time to turn our steps away
We find it hard to travel roads of clay!
