QUEEN CREEK CANYON, by
First Line: About me rose chaos of peak on peak
Last Line: "marks the sparrows fall."
Subject(s): Nature

About me rose chaos of peak on peak;
High above all, towered Apache Leap --
Crags of weathered granite grim,
The floor of the chasm, shadowy, dim,
Hundreds of feet below --

And I said, "The God who builded this,
The Heaven-kissed dome and the deep abyss
That has stood for eons, and that shall stand
After the days of transient man,
Marks the sparrows fall."
