SPRING SONG, by HOLLEY PERRY First Line: I shall go back to the hills again Last Line: On the morrow is work anew. Subject(s): Nature | ||||||||
I shall go back to the hills again And wander gay and free; I'll walk beside the flowing stream Down past the gnarled old tree. I'll ramble then over hill and dale Among wild asters sweet, I'll sit awhile on a big flat rock With daisies about my feet. I am a vagabond lover of flowers And not a care have I For I am at home in the open hills Under the amethyst sky. I lift my eyes to a sunset grand In colors of brilliant hue; This is a cadence of summer joy On the morrow is work anew. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...INTERRUPTED MEDITATION by ROBERT HASS TWO VIEWS OF BUSON by ROBERT HASS THE FATALIST: HOME by LYN HEJINIAN WRITING IS AN AID TO MEMORY: 17 by LYN HEJINIAN LET US GATHER IN A FLOURISHING WAY by JUAN FELIPE HERRERA IN MICHAEL ROBINS?ÇÖS CLASS MINUS ONE by HICOK.
