Oh, there are moments in our life
When the dim marshes of the mind,
Those livid swamps, where birds of strife
Beat up against a sullen wind,
Sink, drowned, in one tremendous flood,
Full-brimmed, resistless, like the sea.
I rose and praised God where I stood,
When such a moment came to me!
