A PRAYER, by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD Poet's Biography First Line: When summer sweetness fills the land Last Line: Its portion, in the great despair. Alternate Author Name(s): Radford, Ernest, Mrs. | |||
WHEN summer sweetness fills the land, And summer sunlight floods the sea, When ships sail by on either hand, A richly laden argosy; Oh may my boat, well freighted, ride, With priceless treasures on the tide. When cruel winds beat on the sea, And angry clouds blot out the land, When on the waters close to me The shattered ships drift by unmanned, Oh may my heart be strong to bear Its portion, in the great despair. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A BALLAD OF VICTORY by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A BRIDE by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A CONCERT by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A DREAM OF 'DREAMS' by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A MODEL by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A MODERN POLYPHEME by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A NOVEMBER ROSE by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A NOVICE by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A PORTRAIT by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A WANDERER by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD |
