LYRIC, by KATHLEEN JESSIE RAINE Poet Analysis Poet's Biography First Line: Low laughter of light Last Line: That spans the sky. Subject(s): Memory; Sea; Time; Ocean | ||||||||
Low laughter of light In gleaming sky Dawns over deeps Of memory. If I could listen I should hear, If I could look, I should see The moving waves Of soundless sea. But eyes blind me, Thoughts bind me, Time ties me, I turn away. It was I who laughed And I was the day, The tremor of joy And the arch of light That spans the sky. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HALL OF OCEAN LIFE by JOHN HOLLANDER JULY FOURTH BY THE OCEAN by ROBINSON JEFFERS BOATS IN A FOG by ROBINSON JEFFERS CONTINENT'S END by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE FIGUREHEAD by LEONIE ADAMS A MESSAGE TO MICHAEL by KATHLEEN JESSIE RAINE |
