FADED FLOWERS, by MARY M. RANDLEMAN First Line: Tis a crimson bud I treasured years ago Last Line: That life is fair and all is well with thee. Subject(s): Absence; Flowers; Love; Memory; Separation; Isolation | ||||||||
'Tis a crimson bud I treasured years ago, When the door had closed and you were gone from me, It was smiling on me from among the flowers Roses strewn in love to thy memory. It seemed to tell me that you had not gone That all is life and nothing here to fear, No cause for grief for parting is unreal And love triumphant masters sorrow we have here. How you loved the beauty of the roses Ere you closed the door and went away from me, But I know beyond the seeming shadows That life is fair and all is well with thee. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE EVENING OF THE MIND by DONALD JUSTICE CHRISTMAS AWAY FROM HOME by JANE KENYON THE PROBLEM by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES WHEN A WOMAN LOVES A MAN by DAVID LEHMAN THIS UNMENTIONABLE FEELING by DAVID LEHMAN |
